Horse Play
OK, so today I was suppose to be really motivated and get my youngest daughter's room completely cleaned. Since I like to relax and have a few cups of coffee first, I figured I would plan out in my head where to start. Well, it is now 3:55 and I have not started yet.

Hooray |
I did have a few other things that needed to be taken care of also and I seemingly put them first. Guess you could say I am procrastinating on getting the job done. The morning started out as cloudy and rainy and now the sun is shinning so it makes it really hard to want to stay in the house and clean. I am thinking it would be best to wait until another day since I have preoccupied myself with other things.

Looks like rain!! |
Not getting her room cleaned was not just my fault. She thought we should goof around on the computer for a bit. So we turned on the webcam and had a little fun. Sometimes it is necessary to simply enjoy life and your children while they are young. The room will still be there tomorrow.
I find when I take the time to do things for myself and my children the rest that has to be done does not seem like such a chore. It provides an equilibrium in my life. It makes me feel satisfied with the simple things and thus in return my children are satisfied too.
I hope you enjoy viewing our pictures we took together. I know we had a good time and lots of laughs.

That was too funny! |
Shawna, I really enjoyed your blog post! I can definitely relate to how you felt today. I also have had some days where there are many things that I need to get done, but that I put off until the last possible minute. Sometimes I feel as though that is needed. We all as individuals get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives that we forget to relax.
ReplyDeleteAnd even though you didn’t get the room cleaned, so what? You had a great day with spending time with your daughter.( by the looks of the pictures it seems as though you two had a great time :D). I really liked what you said in regards to spending time with your daughter and forgoing your chores for the time being. “I find when I take the time to do things for myself and my children the rest that has to be done does not seem like such a chore. It provides an equilibrium in my life:”
That is such a great message! It shows how much you care about your family, and that is very sweet to see
Shawna - I think it's great that instead of getting things done today that you took the time to spend with your daughter goofing around. It's nice to relax and have fun, and I'm glad you have that special bond with your daughter to be able to do fun stuff like that. Like you said, her room is going to be there tomorrow!! Girl's rooms are supposed to be messy when your a little girl anyways! I loved the pictures of your daughter and you with the rain clouds, how creative and fits with the weekends weather that's for sure!! I too loved your comment that your children provide an equilibrium in your life. You couldn't have explained that more perfectly! Your children are only young once, so it's a good idea to spend as much time with them as you can before it's too late.
ReplyDeleteI don't have children yet, but I know that once I do, I will try and spend as much time with them as I can. Certain chores can wait. No one is perfect, and ones house never has to be perfectly clean 24/7, everyone has to learn to live a little and enjoy life. My equilibrium in my life is spending time with family, friends, and relaxing inbetween my busy work schedule and taking summer classes. I'm busy, but somehow I love it that way!
